Booster overview¶
MusterSheet's booster tools are the private home for your band's year-round work: the student roster, family balances, payments, calendar, announcements, volunteer sign-ups, and fundraising. Organizations can also choose Integrated Accounting for reimbursements, receipts, and the organization's books.
They are separate from the public competition-day pages. A fan can follow a live competition without an account; booster families and officers need an account connected to their student or organization.
This requires Booster or Program access
The booster tools are included in the standalone Booster tier and the full Program tier. They are purchased by the booster organization or school—not by each parent. A band director or a booster officer can start a full-feature trial with no card — free through the end of the 2026 season while MusterSheet is in beta, and 60 days starting with the 2027 season. If the trial or subscription lapses, the organization's records and exports remain available, but changes, payments, RSVPs, and other new activity pause until access is active again.
If you do not see booster tools, your band may not use them yet, you may still need to join your student, or an officer may need to add your staff role.
Choose what you need to do¶
I am a parent or family member¶
Start with Join your booster group. There are four ways in: enter a 10-minute code from a booster officer, request a private link using the parent email address on the roster, scan the private family QR card an officer handed you, or open a personal invitation an officer sent. After you are connected, you can:
- read your student's statement and balance;
- pay online if the organization accepts card payments;
- follow the season calendar and RSVP for your student;
- claim volunteer spots; and
- submit a reimbursement when you used your own money for boosters that use Integrated Accounting.
Continue with Calendar, RSVPs & volunteering, Announcements & the Booster Feed, and Student fees, payments & reimbursements.
I am volunteering at a competition¶
If a host assigned you to band check-in or the shoutout cash station, start with Volunteer at a competition station. That assignment is separate from a booster-calendar volunteer spot.
I am a president, treasurer, or assistant¶
An existing president or treasurer adds your email under Organization Settings → Staff. Use that same email for your MusterSheet account. After your role is active, choose Booster Organization from the left menu on a phone or your initials menu on a wider screen.
New organization? You can create it yourself — no director needed to get started. Start with:
- Start the booster organization
- First-time setup checklist
- Staff roles & permissions
- Build the roster & connect parents
- Announcements & the Booster Feed
- Treasurer operations guide
I am the band director¶
You can create the band's booster organization yourself — it is born linked to your band, and you act as the initial president long enough to add the real officers. If a booster officer already created one, they will give you a band link code; enter it under Settings → Band Profile to link the organization to your band. Either way, once the organization is linked you keep read-only visibility into its student-finance and roster screens (plus its books when it uses Integrated Accounting) and can help manage the season calendar. An officer must give you a staff role for other booster work.
