Booster overview

MusterSheet's booster tools are your band boosters' private home for the year: the student roster, family balances, payments, the calendar, announcements, and volunteer sign-ups. This page points you to the right guide for your job.

Booster pages are private. Fans can follow a live competition without an account, but families and officers need an account connected to their student or booster group.

Who pays for the booster tools

The booster group or school pays, not each parent. A band director or a booster officer can start a free trial with no credit card. During the 2026 beta, it is free through the end of the 2026 season. Starting with the 2027 season, the free trial lasts 60 days.

If the group stops paying, everyone can still see everything, and parents can still pay online. But nobody can add new charges, RSVPs, volunteer sign-ups, comments, announcements, or reimbursement requests until the group pays again.

Don't see the booster tools? Your band may not use them yet, you may still need to join your student, or an officer may need to add you as staff.

Choose what you need to do

I am a parent or family member

Start with Join your booster group. There are four ways in:

  1. Email yourself a private link. Use the email address the boosters have for you.
  2. Type in a short code a booster officer gives you. It works for 10 minutes.
  3. Scan the private family QR card an officer gave you.
  4. Open a personal invitation an officer sent you.

I am volunteering at a competition

If a competition host asked you to run band check-in or the shoutout cash station, see Volunteer at a competition station. That is different from a volunteer spot on your booster calendar.

I am a president, treasurer, or assistant

An existing president or treasurer adds your email under Organization Settings → Staff. Sign up for MusterSheet with that same email. Then choose Booster Organization from the menu. On a phone, tap the three-line button at the top left. On a computer, click the circle with your initials at the top right.

I am the band director

You can create your band's booster group yourself. It is linked to your band right away, and you act as president until you add the real officers.

If an officer already created the group, they will give you a band link code. Type it in on the Band Profile tab of your Settings page.

Once the group is linked to your band, you can look at its money and roster pages, but you can't change them. You can also manage the calendar and post announcements. To do anything else, ask an officer to add you as staff.
