Trial, billing & online payments¶
Two separate Stripe features appear in Organization Settings. They solve different problems:
- Billing & Subscription pays MusterSheet for the standalone Booster tier.
- Online Parent Payments sends family card payments directly to your organization's Stripe-connected bank account.
Paying the MusterSheet subscription does not automatically connect your bank, and connecting your bank does not replace the Booster subscription.
Booster trial and subscription¶
Creating a booster organization starts a full-feature trial with no card required — free through the end of the 2026 season while MusterSheet is in beta, and a 60-day trial starting with the 2027 season.
Presidents and treasurers can open Settings → Billing & Subscription to see the current state and subscribe. While the organization is on a trial (or after a lapse), up to two subscription choices appear there, depending on what MusterSheet has enabled:
- The standalone Booster tier is $399 per year starting with the 2027 season — one flat price for the organization rather than a per-student charge.
- The full Program tier is $449 per year and includes both Host and Booster access: in addition to every booster feature, the band's directors can create and run competitions without a separate Host subscription.
The trial and the Booster subscription work whether or not a band is linked — an officer-created organization can subscribe before its director has ever signed in. The Program choice, however, appears only after the band is linked: its extra benefit is competition hosting for the band's directors, which needs a linked band to flow to. Until then the billing page shows the Booster option with a note that Program adds hosting once your band is linked (see the Band Link card in Start the booster organization).

| Complimentary | MusterSheet has granted the organization access; no subscription payment is needed. |
If access becomes read-only, nothing is deleted. Subscribe again to re-enable work where it left off.
Set up online parent payments¶
Only a president or treasurer can complete this setup.
- Open Settings → Online Parent Payments.
- Click Set Up Payouts with Stripe.
- On Stripe's secure page, enter the organization's identity, bank, and responsible-person information.
- Return to MusterSheet. If the card says onboarding is still incomplete, finish the missing Stripe details and click Check Status.
- When charges are enabled, confirm the Fee Basis matches the processing rate Stripe assigned to your organization. Click Save Fee Basis.
Parents now see Pay Online on statements with open charges. Stripe adds the displayed processing fee to the parent's total so the organization receives the face amount of the student payment.
Use the organization's bank information
Stripe payouts go directly to the connected account. Confirm the legal organization name, responsible person, and bank account with the president or board before finishing setup. MusterSheet never asks you to email this information.
If parents do not see Pay Online¶
Check these in order:
- The booster trial/subscription or full Program access is still active.
- Online Parent Payments says Stripe charges are enabled.
- The student has an open charge.
- No pending checkout is temporarily holding that charge.
Cash and check payments can always be recorded by staff while the organization is writable; they do not require Stripe.
