Concession menus

This page helps hosts and co-hosts post the menu for each concession stand and food truck. Fans can read the menus on their phones from your event page, with no account needed. You manage menus on the Manage page, on the Concessions tab.

Add a stand or food truck

  1. Open your competition's Manage page and choose the Concessions tab.
  2. Scroll to Add a stand.
  3. Type the Stand name, such as "Booster Grill" or "Taco Truck". This is the only box you must fill in.
  4. If you like, fill in the other boxes:
    • Run by: who runs it, such as the booster club.
    • Where to find it: "Behind the home bleachers".
    • Payment: "Cash only" or "Cash and cards".
    • Highlighted note: a short note fans will notice, such as "Gluten-free options available".
    • Menu: see the next section.
  5. Click Add stand.

Write the menu

Type one item per line, with the price at the end. A line that ends in a colon (:) starts a new heading. You can copy this example into the Menu box and change it:

Grill:
Hamburger $6
Cheeseburger - $6.50
Hot dog $4
Drinks:
Bottled water 2.00
Sweet tea
Snacks:
Popcorn – $2
Nachos $5

Tips:

  • Write prices as $6, 6, 6.50, or $6.50.
  • A dash before the price is fine. Put a space on both sides of it: Popcorn – $2.
  • An item with no price, like Sweet tea, is shown without one.
  • Two sizes or a deal can share a line: Funnel cake small $6 / large $9, Water 2 for $5. Put a $ in front of each price.
  • Blank lines are ignored.

If a line can't be read, the page tells you which line to fix and keeps what you typed. A stand can have up to 300 items.

Saving replaces the whole menu

The Menu box always holds the stand's full menu. Whatever is in the box when you save becomes the menu. Edit the text in place. Don't paste in only the new lines.

Edit on competition morning

Prices change and items sell out.

  1. Open Manage, then the Concessions tab.
  2. Change any box on that stand's card. To pull a sold-out item, delete its line from the menu.
  3. Click the Save button. It shows the stand's name.

Fans see the change the next time they open or reload the page.

Reorder or delete stands

  • Click Move up or Move down on a stand's card to change the order fans see.
  • Click Delete to remove a stand and its whole menu. You'll be asked to confirm. This can't be undone.

What fans see

Your public event page has a Concessions tile. If you have more than one stand, fans tap a stand's name to see its menu. Stands appear in your order.

Each stand shows its name, who runs it, where to find it, how to pay, your highlighted note, and its menu with prices.

Food vendors you approve can add their own menu on their vendor profile. Each one shows as a tab after your stands, with the vendor's booth number. You don't need to add them here. See Vendors for approving vendors.

Next year

Menus belong to one competition. When you create next year's edition from this one, stands are not copied. Add them again once you know who's coming.
