Accept your invitation

The host sends you a personal invitation link. Opening it shows a page titled "You're invited to [competition name]", with who invited you and what role you'll have — for example, Percussion Judge, or Announcer.

If you're new to MusterSheet

The invitation page creates your account for you — no separate sign-up:

  1. Pick how you'll sign in. Continue with Google verifies you without a password (it must be the exact address you were invited at — a different Google account leaves the invitation untouched), or fill in the Password field below the divider to create an email-and-password account instead.
  2. Enter your Full Name, and optionally "What should we call you?" — a short or preferred name the app will use.
  3. Announcers and other competition staff also pick an Account type: Parent / Volunteer (already selected, and right for most people) or Band Director, which adds Band Name, School Name, City, and State so you can register your own band from the same account. Judges skip this — a judge invitation sets your account type outright.
  4. Tick the two acknowledgment boxes: the Terms of Service / Privacy Policy, and that MusterSheet is beta software. Both are required.
  5. Click Accept Invitation.

That's it. Judges land directly on their scoring page for the competition; announcers and other staff land on the competition's management page, where their tools live. Your email and role were already set by the host — nothing to configure.

If you already have an account

Use the same link. What you see depends on who's signed in:

  • Signed in as the invited email — the page says "Accept with your existing account". One click on Accept Invitation adds the role; your account type and password are untouched.
  • Not signed in — the page says "Sign in to accept" with a Sign In to Accept button. Sign in with your password or Google and you'll come right back to confirm.
  • Signed in as somebody else — the page asks you to Sign Out and Switch Accounts first. This is deliberate: an invitation link never attaches a role to the wrong account.

One account can direct a band, judge one weekend, and announce the next.

  • "Invitation not found" — the link didn't copy correctly. Ask whoever invited you to send a fresh one.
  • "This invitation has already been accepted." — you (or someone) already used it. Just sign in normally.
  • "This invitation was revoked." — the host withdrew it, perhaps to change your section. Ask them to resend.

Judges: about your section

Your judging section (Band, Drum Major, Percussion, Color Guard, ...) is chosen by the host when they invite you. If it's wrong, tell the host — they can fix the assignment on their side. Likewise, if you have a connection to a competing band (your kid marches in it, you used to teach there), tell the host so they can reassign — there's no place for you to flag it yourself yet.
