Install on your phone (optional)

MusterSheet is a website. You never have to install anything. If you use it often, you can put a MusterSheet icon on your phone's Home Screen (the screen with all your app icons). Then it opens like an app. It's free, and there is no app store.

Use it in your browser

Your browser is the app you use to visit websites, like Safari or Chrome. Go to mustersheet.com in it and sign in. Everything works the same as with the Home Screen icon. Fans never need to install anything.

Install on iPhone or iPad

You must use Safari for this.

  1. Open mustersheet.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up). It's at the bottom of the screen on iPhone and the top right on iPad.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. If you see an Open as Web App switch, leave it on.
  5. Tap Add.

Tap the new MusterSheet icon to open it. The first time, you need to sign in again. After that it remembers you.

Install on Android

  1. Open mustersheet.com in Chrome.
  2. If you see an Install MusterSheet button, tap it. Then tap Install to confirm. The same button is also on your home page after you sign in, and under Settings → Notifications → Install & Offline.
  3. No button? Tap the three dots (⋮) at the top right of Chrome. Tap Add to Home screen, then Install.

Install on a computer

You don't need to. A bookmark works just as well. If you want to, open MusterSheet in Chrome or Edge. Look at the long box at the top where the web address shows. Use the small install icon at its right end.

Get ready for competition day

The internet often drops at a stadium. These screens keep working without internet, as long as the screen is already open:

  • The judge scoring sheet
  • The announcer console
  • Band check-in (the volunteer check-in station and a director's own check-in from a phone)
  • The shoutout cash station (the walk-up kiosk and the cash list)

Everything else in MusterSheet needs internet.

Before the event starts:

  1. Sign in on the phone or tablet you will use.
  2. While you still have internet, open the screen you will work on. Let it load all the way.
  3. Leave that screen open all day. Don't close the page or swipe the app away. If you do close it, open it again while you have internet.

If the internet drops while you work:

  • Keep working. Don't type anything in twice.
  • The screen shows that your work is saved and waiting to be sent.
  • When the internet comes back, your saved work is sent by itself.
  • Keep the screen open until everything is sent. Most of these screens have a small label near the top that tells you how your work is doing. When it says Up to date, everything has been sent.

Checking in bands with no internet

Check-in saves the band you are working on. You need internet again to open the list and pick the next band.

If you had to close the screen

Your saved work stays on that phone or tablet. Once you have internet, open MusterSheet again on that same phone or tablet, signed in as the same person. The saved work is sent then.

Check that a device is ready

Do this on the phone or tablet you will use. Go to Settings → Notifications → Install & Offline. You will see:

  • Installed: whether MusterSheet is on your Home Screen or open in a browser.
  • Connection: whether this phone or tablet has internet right now.
  • Offline support (working with no internet): Ready for signal drops means you can keep working when the internet drops.
  • Waiting to send: work saved here that hasn't been sent yet. If it says something needs attention, go back to the screen where you did that work. Tap the small label near the top to see what's wrong.

Updates

MusterSheet updates itself. If it ever looks old or a button is missing, close it all the way, then open it again while you have internet.

Remove it

Press and hold the MusterSheet icon on your Home Screen. On iPhone or iPad, tap Remove App, then Delete App. On Android, drag it to Uninstall. This only removes the icon. Your account and everything in it are safe.

If something goes wrong

I don't see an Add to Home Screen or Install option. : Use Safari on iPhone or iPad, or Chrome on Android. Make sure you typed mustersheet.com exactly. Some other browsers can't install MusterSheet, but the website still works in them.

I'm in a private or incognito window. : Private windows can't install MusterSheet or keep screens ready for when the internet drops. Use a normal window.

It's a school or district phone or tablet. : Some school-owned phones and tablets block installing. Use MusterSheet in the browser, or ask whoever looks after that phone or tablet.

My phone is almost full. : It may not install MusterSheet, or it may clear out the saved screens. Delete some old photos or apps, then open your screen again while you have internet.

None of that helped. : MusterSheet works fine without installing. If something seems broken, contact support.
