Find & register for a competition

Browse competitions

  1. Sign in and click My Competitions in the top bar, then Browse Competitions (or go straight to the Browse Competitions page from your dashboard's Search shortcut).
  2. Use the filter bar to narrow the list: Search by name, venue, or city; pick a State; pick a Class; or filter by Availability (Open, Closing soon, Full, Closed, Coming soon). Click Apply.
  3. Each card shows the date, location, fee, and how many spots are left. Click View Details on one that interests you.

Not open yet?

Competitions marked Coming Soon aren't taking registrations yet. Open one and click Notify Me When Registration Opens — you'll get a notification the moment it opens.

Read the detail page

Before registering, the competition page tells you everything the host has shared:

  • Event Details — date, venue, location, Registration Fee, and how many band spots remain.
  • Competition Classes — the size ranges for each class.
  • Weather / Refund Policy — what happens to fees if the day washes out, if the host has published a policy. It also appears above the registration form, so you see it before you commit.
  • Logistics & Arrival — check-in procedure, bus parking, trailer info, and a site map, if the host has posted them.
  • Event Contacts — who to call with questions.
  • Pay by Mailed Check — if the host accepts checks, this card shows exactly who to make the check payable to and where to mail it.

Register your band

At the bottom of the detail page (while registration is open):

  1. Find the Register Your Band section.
  2. Check the Competition Class field. Based on your roster, MusterSheet tells you "Your band qualifies for ..." — you can usually keep that, or choose to "up-class" into a harder class if you want the challenge. Some hosts assign classes themselves; in that case you'll see "Your class will be confirmed by the host." and there's nothing to pick.
  3. If the section "Which captions are you competing in?" appears, uncheck anything your band isn't entering this year (for example, no percussion line).
  4. If the competition runs a Drum Line Battle (some events end the night with the drum lines facing off), the form has an opt-in for it — check it if your line wants in. It's free to enter and decided by the host outside the normal judging.
  5. Confirm the Registration fee shown, then click Submit Registration.

What happens next

Your registration goes to the host for review. The status shows on the competition page, on My Competitions, and on your dashboard:

Status What it means
Pending Approval The host hasn't reviewed it yet. Nothing to do.
Accepted — Payment Due You're in! Now pay the fee — see Pay your registration fee.
Paid All set. Watch for the schedule.
Waitlisted The class or event is full. You'll be notified if a spot opens.
Rejected The host declined the registration.

You'll get a notification (the bell in the top bar) whenever the status changes.

Withdrawing

If plans change, open the competition page, scroll to Danger Zone, and click Withdraw from Competition. You'll be asked to confirm — withdrawing can't be undone, and if you change your mind you'll have to register again from scratch. Contact the host directly about any refund.
