Pay your registration fee

Once the host accepts your registration, its status changes to Accepted — Payment Due and you'll get a notification. Payment confirms your spot.

Where to pay

Open the competition's page (from My Competitions or your dashboard, click the competition). The payment options appear right where the registration form used to be.

Option 1: Pay online by card

If the host takes online payments, you'll see a button like Pay registration fee — $150.00 online.

  1. Click the button. You'll be taken to a secure checkout page run by Stripe, the payment processor — this is normal and safe; MusterSheet never sees your card number.
  2. Enter your card details and complete the payment.
  3. You're returned to MusterSheet with the message "Payment received — your registration is paid." Your status is now Paid. Done.

If you change your mind on the checkout page, just close it or go back — you'll see "Payment was cancelled — you have not been charged." and can try again any time.

About the card processing fee

At some competitions a small card processing fee is added at checkout — you'll see the exact amount under the pay button before you click (for example, "A card processing fee of $4.78 is added at checkout"). This happens when the host receives card payments directly: the fee covers the card cost — capped at what the card actually costs to process — so the host receives the full registration fee. If you'd rather not pay it, a mailed check (below) carries no fee.

Option 2: Pay by mailed check

If the host accepts checks, the competition page has a Pay by Mailed Check card with everything you need:

  • Make check payable to — the exact name to put on the check.
  • Mailing address — where to send it.

Write the check, and put your band name and school name in the memo line so the host can match it to your registration. When the host receives and records your check, your status flips to Paid and you'll get a notification.

School purchase orders

Many directors pay through their school's bookkeeper. That's fine — just make sure the check that eventually goes out uses the payable-to name and address from the competition page, with your band name in the memo.

If neither option appears

Some competitions are free (no payment step at all), and some hosts handle payment entirely offline. If your registration says Accepted — Payment Due but you don't see a pay button or check instructions, contact the host — their contact info is in the Event Contacts card on the competition page.
